Dear Cousin,

I am writing to you on behalf of my mama, Rochele. We have already written once but have not received any response. You probably know of the tragedy that has befallen us with Papa. Apart from that, nothing new. Maybe you could write to Charlie and find out how my brothers, Max and Efroim, are doing. We are concerned about them as we have not heard anything about them for a year now.

What’s happening with you? Mama is asking if you can send us if at all possible, a parcel with food provisions. We will return the favour in due course.
